Todd Lake
Todd Lake is one of the first of the Cascades Lakes you run into, ironically it takes the longest to open because long after the other lakes are accessible, Todd Lake can still be blocked off by snow. For some reason it is a very popular lake and parking is difficult even on weekdays. The best waterfalls are before you even get to the lake. One is right at the parking lot and the other is along the very short dirt road to the lake.
There is a trail that goes all around the lake, just be warned when you reach the meadow its going to be wet and soggy. Water proof shoes will be a good idea. Especially when the flowers are blooming and the frogs are out. At the trail head there is a guide put out by the park service about all the different flowers you will encounter. All though out the trail there are little streams flowing into the lake.
Below are photos taken of the meadow and from it.
This is the first thing you see reaching the lake. This area in the photo is fenced off to remind you how fragile it is. People walking here constantly will reduce it to mud and bare dirt in no time.
There is camping but its no more than 14 days, I mostly just see day use. Lots of people go here to swim but the water is still cold.
One last photo from the parking lot.
